Lee’s Summit teens seriously injured in car crash

Two Lee’s Summit teenagers were taken to Centerpoint Medical Center Nov. 25 after a serious crash at 3:06 p.m. on M-150 Highway, just east of Harris Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the patrol, Alyssa Patton, 18, westbound on M-150 Highway in a 2001 Volkswagon, drove off the right side of the road, overcorrected and slid off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The patrol said neither Patton nor Madison Cannon, 17, who was a passenger in the car, were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The patrol said the accident is still under investigation and charges are pending.
