Bryan Marlborough of Lee’s Summit, will be joining the Kansas City Shock as the strength and conditioning coach.
Summit Christian Academy’s golf team finished second in the Class 2, District 7 tournament April 29 at Country Creek with a team score of 350.
To accelerate Kansas City youth soccer development, youth soccer club Liberty United Football Club from the Northland will merge with the Southland’s KC Select Soccer Club. The merger and tryouts for the new club will begin June 1.

Baseball
Lee’s Summit’s Kelsey Gochnauer will be a goalkeeper for the Kansas City Shock, a women’s premier soccer league, in the upcoming season.
Reagen “Reggie” Kanagawa has become accustomed to answering questions about her age. As a 10 and 11-year-old softball player, she towered over most of the other players on the field and sometimes the coaches and umpires too.
Lee’s Summit West took home first place out of eight teams at the annual Mike VanBecelaere Memorial Tournament held April 20 at Lee’s Summit North.
Megan Stueve, from Lee’s Summit, will be joining the Kansas City Shock, a women’s premier soccer league, as a forward for the upcoming season.
Summit Christian Academy eighth grade student Corbin Healy has been named Junior Mavericks Hockey Player of the Year.
Several local wrestlers competed in the Brute Nationals held April 11-14 at Independent Events Center, Independence.
Summit Christian Academy senior Luke Hammer is the recipient of the Junior Mavericks Inaugural College Scholarship.
