Cable store a first for Time Warner
Time Warner Cable will open its first Customer Experience Store on Nov. 28 at 188 N.W. Oldham Parkway in the Summit Shopping Center.
The new store in Lees Summit will further our mission of connecting people and businesses with information, entertainment and each other, said Scott Miller, Time Warner Cables area vice president of operations. It is important to us to connect with our customers in a one-on-one environment, and well make sure that store visitors feel like they have convenient, affordable options to help them reach their full potential in the technology world we live in.
The Lees Summit location will be Time Warner Cables sixth cable store in the Kansas City metro area.
Mutual Fund Store opens local branch
The Mutual Fund Store has doubled its presence in the metropolitan area with the opening of new locations in Lees Summit and Shawnee, Kan. The join locations in Liberty and Overland Park.
The Lees Summit store is at 1317 N.E. Douglas St. in the Douglas Square Shopping Center. Kelly Van Deusen, an adviser with the company for 10 years, will be based there.
Architects awarded for fire station
The Lees Summit Fire Department and Williams Spurgeon Kuhl & Freshnock Architects announced that Fire Station No. 2. has received a Silver Design Award in Fire Chief magazines Station Style design competition.
The station was honored in the Satellite Station category.
In 2007, Lees Summit voters approved a no-tax-increase bond issue that included a new, relocated Fire Station No. 2. The new 8,905-square-foot station was completed in May. It includes a number of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design elements, including cool roof metal panels, high-performance insulation, high-efficiency lighting and use of recycled materials.
Residents win cable MVP award
Lees Summit residents Autumn Coleman and Mark Robinson were among nine Time Warner Cable employees named Mission & Values Performance award winners for the third quarter.
Coleman is a work order processor and coordinator, and Robinson is a customer care advocate.
