James Edward Sewell, 49, died Dec. 1, 2011, at his home in Lee’s Summit.

Jim was born April 26, 1962, in Unionville to Jack and Nina (Doolin) Sewell. Jim graduated from Putnam County High School in 1980 and from Central Missouri State University in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and uncle, Jim Whitaker.

He is survived by his wife, Paula, of seven years; his mother; sister, Tamara and husband, Clifford Brown, Livonia; his aunt, Jo De Whitaker, Platte City; mother- and father-in-law, Phyllis and Jerry Bittiker, Warsaw; brother-in-law, Neal, Topeka, Kan.; and a host of friends.

A celebration of life will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Dec. 10, at Dogwood Springs Retirement Villa, 151 S.E. Todd George Parkway, Lee’s Summit.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to The Salvation Army or American Heart Association, and may be sent to Park Lawn Funeral Home.
