Marilyn June (Holquist) Larson, 85, Lee’s Summit, died Dec. 3, 2011.

Marilyn was born Sept. 21, 1926, in St. Louis. Her family moved to the Kansas City area and she graduated from Westport High School in the class of 1943. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Overland Park, Kan., where she was active in the choir and was a leader of the youth group, the M.Y.F. She later attended First Presbyterian of Independence, and most recently attended Wood Chapel United Methodist Church. She had been a Girl Scout Leader and was a member of the Christian Women’s Association and Lakewood Country Club.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer A. Larson, in 1993.

She is survived by her son, Roger K. Larson and wife, Lisa, Kansas City; daughter, Lynn E. Larson (Bolger), Lee’s Summit; grandchildren, Christopher S. Bolger and wife, Stacy, Albuquerque, N.M.; Michael S. Bolger, Lee’s Summit, Helen McDonald, Michelle McDonald, both of Kansas City; great-grandchildren, Emily Gauthier, Alyson Bolger, Christopher McDonald; brother-in-law, James Daniel Larson, Independence; and sister-in-law, Mary Lucille Larson, Lee’s Summit.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Dec. 8, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence; interment at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Dec. 7, at the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Rd., Kansas City, MO 64137.
