John Alan Lindmark, 63, Grain Valley, died Dec. 22, 2011, at St. Luke’s Heart Institute from complications of heart failure.

John was born July 14, 1948, in Fort Lewis, Wash. He was an avid garage-saler and his greatest joy was being “Grandpa.”

He was preceded in death by hid granddaughter, Melanie Grace Lindmark; parents, Marvin and Belly Lindmark, Independence; and nephew, Marvin Lindmark III.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Lindmark; daughter, Ms. Jany Moore; son, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Moore; son, Mr. and Mrs. John Allen Jr. Lindmark; son, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Taylor Lindmark; five granddaughters; four grandsons; brother, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lindmark II; nephews, Russ and Jeff Lindmark; and faithful companion, Britney the Winnie Dog.

Memorial service will be 6 p.m., Dec. 28, at the Cross Creek Baptist Mission Church, Oak Grove. A visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marvin Lindmark Scholarship Fund at William Christian High School or The Melanie Grace Fund c/o Lee’s Summit Education Foundation.
