John Mark Culler, 57, Lee&#x92;s Summit, died at home Dec. 22, 2011, after a 49 year battle with muscular dystrophy. He &#x93;fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith&#x94; and is now in the arms of his loving Lord.</p><p>Mark was born Feb. 6, 1954, in Moberly to John and Mary Culler.</p><p>Although diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age 8, and confined to a wheelchair when he was 13, Mark never let his disease overpower his strong faith and will to live. He was a musician who wrote, sang and composed his own music, and recorded several CD&#x92;s. At his church, he initiated an audiotape ministry in which he recorded Sunday services for homebound members.</p><p>Mark was preceded in death by his father, John Culler; and his brother, Lynn Culler. </p><p>He leaves behind his beloved mother, Mary Culler; sister, Teresa Hunt; niece, Amy Hunt; cousin, Karen George; and an aunt, Irene McNew. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Dec. 28, at the Lee&#x92;s Summit United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee&#x92;s Summit. </p><p>The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Lee&#x92;s Summit United Methodist Church, Muscular Dystrophy Association of Kansas City or to Sisters, Servants of Mary, Kansas City, Kan.</p><p>Mark will be missed by all who knew him and who were blessed and inspired by his positive attitude toward life and his strong faith in God.
