Virginia LaBoube, 87, Lee’s Summit, formerly of Jefferson City, Jan. 6, 2012, at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit.

She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Harry W. K. and Viola (Locke) Bagby. On June 17, 1949, she was united in marriage, in St. Louis, to Roy Wayne LaBoube who preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1995.

Virginia attended Jefferson City public schools. She was employed with Union Pacific Railroad as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit and a former member of Memorial Baptist Church in Jefferson City. Virginia enjoyed Bible studies and card games. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred L. Burton; and one sister, Gertrude V. Stratmann.

She is survived by one sister, Betty R. Kellar and her husband, Ken, Lee’s Summit; one brother-in-law, Gene Stratmann, St. Louis; four grandchildren, Cindy Ellis, St. Charles, Mindy Tornatore, Ballwin, Steve Burton and his wife, Kathleen, Troy, and Susan Snyder, St. Charles; and five great-grandchildren, Brittany Ellis, Dominic Tornatore, Tim Burton, Christina Burton and Tommy Norman, and his wife, Darshell, California. She will be greatly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were Jan. 9, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Internment followed in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit, 2 N.E.
