Driver hospitalized after ejection along U.S. 50
Officers with the Lee's Summit Police Department responded at about 2 a.m. Monday to a single-vehicle crash causing serious injuries along eastbound U.S. 50 Highway about a quarter mile east of the Missouri 291 Highway north junction. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver, a 19-year-old female from Blue Springs, was traveling in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50 when her car left the roadway and went into the grass median. After entering the grass median, the vehicle rolled once before coming to rest. The driver of the vehicle was ejected and thrown onto the shoulder of the roadway. She was transported via ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.
