Seventeen-year-old Deepa Kote dances a traditional Indian dance with the Nartan Dance Academy of Overland Park, Kan., at the Lee’s Summit MLK celebration Jan. 16. The celebration, “Stone of Hope,” focused on diversity. Dancers from Heritage Dance Ministry and El Grupo Atotonilco also performed.
