Echoes
Weekly poetry from Hubert Neth
see the countless
churches
row on row
which ones
are right
name those
that are
wrong
does anybody
know
add in
synagogues
mosques
temples
shrines
sacred spaces
in desert dust
by placid streams
beneath tall pines
find celebration centers
remain at home
surf channels
or web
read selected
scripture
turn over
in bed
then
there are
the cults
where its
agree with
the boss
or get off
the bus
keep
competing
with each other
is the winning
god
somewhere
in our genes
determined
by culture
or market share
memes
do true food venues
have more cars
parked outside
is dog eat dog
bigger fish
swallow small
the rule
of the universe
to be followed
by all
and when
a radiation shower
like this weeks
explodes
from the sun
who decides
how far
it reaches
is it the fittest
or no one
just happens
by accident
or chance
times to weep
and times
to dance
h.
