The suspect in a shooting Sunday afternoon in Lee&#x2019;s Summit is now in custody after a four-and-a-half standoff with police.</p><p>Lee&#x2019;s Summit Police Sgt Chris Depue said the suspect surrendered without incident around 8:30 p.m. after police negotiated with the man after he barricaded himself in a residence in the 200 block of N.E. Orchard.</p><p>The man was transported to Lee&#x2019;s Summit jail after an examination by EMS technicians. He is expected to remain in jail overnight as police continue to investigate the details of the shooting.</p><p>According to Depue the suspect and victim, who was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, are familiar with each other but investigators have yet to determine a motive for the shooting around 4 p.m. in the 200 block of N.E. Orchard.</p><p>Details of the incident are being sorted Depue said, but as of Sunday night it was not known the relationship between the victim and the shooter.</p><p>This is a developing story.
