Optimist of the year

Optimist of the Year, Jon Ellis, left, accepts his plaque presented by David Dean, president of the Lee’s Summit Optimist Club. Ellis was presented with the award Oct. 10 at the Optimist’s annual banquet at Paradise Park. Club membership has almost doubled since this time last year in part to Ellis’ dedication to recruitment and support of club activities.
