Sharing wishes for the community

The Giving Tree, a project by Lee’s Summit artist Dave Eames, was officialy unveiled Nov. 23 at City Hall in downtown Lee’s Summit, in cooperation with Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street Inc. Visitors are encouraged to pick up tags at downtown merchants, for free, and write down hopes and wishes to be tied on the tree. They’re to be dropped in a box at the base of the tree. Eames said he also wants people to leave pictures of loved ones or other appropriate items to be put on the tree. "Hopefully by Dec. 31 we’ll have a wonderful expression of our community," Eames said.
