Burnett honored with Haywood Snipes Award

The Lee’s Summit Lions Club met at the Bob Evans restaurant on Dec. 11 for their annual Christmas dinner. A Guest at that meeting was Amy Moss from the Heartland Eye Tissue Bank in Kansas City. Amy presented Lion Ken Burnett with the Haywood Snipes Award. This Award is bestowed upon Missouri Lions Clubs each time the donate $10,000 to the Missour Lion Eye Research Foundation. This represents the Third such level in giving with donations totaling over $30,000 since 1987. Lion Bernard Campbell received the first award and Lion Robert Hayter the second. Another guest of the club was Lion PDG Johnny Stabno and wife Jennifer. Lion Johnny Installed new member Lion J.C. Grossman into our Club. President Lion Gary Hoffman announced that on Dec. 17 members would meet at the Hy-Vee store on 291 Hwy. and pick up and deliver the baskets to the needy families. Packages of Girl Scout cookies were given to each person at the gathering by Lion Hoffman
