With the potential for snow this week, Lee&#x2019;s Summit is getting ready to clear the streets. </p><p>The storm is forecast for Wednesday, Dec. 19, and the Public Works Operations crews will mount plows and spreaders onto snow equipment that afternoon.</p><p>Precipitation is expected to begin as rain and to change to snow at about midnight. Crews will begin pre-treating city-owned streets with salt at 4 p.m. Wednesday and will treat and plow roadways overnight, if necessary.</p><p>For more information about the City&#x2019;s snow removal program, visit www.lspw.net or follow us on Nixle, Facebook and Twitter.</p><p>Residents are also encouraged to:</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Slow down: snow and/or ice can make stopping distances much longer, so leave more distance between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead of you</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Stay up-to-date on weather conditions by listening to radio, viewing television weather casts, and going online</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Remove vehicles from streets to prevent a delay and to improve the snow removal process</p><p>&bull;&nbsp;Shovel snow to the side of your driveway to lessen the amount of snow left at the entrance of your driveway</p><p>You may call the Snow Desk at (816) 969-1870.
