Neighbors helping neighbors

Cyndy Jackson of Davita learned of a Lee’s Summit ReDiscover client from the website. This particular client has suffered 17 years of severe domestic violence from her husband and has seven children. Shirley came to ReDiscover via a referral from Hope House and is in our Adult and Family Services program receiving therapy. She struggled to keep working because of an inoperable car

Madeline Maldonado who is her therapist, had been looking for help getting Shirley’s car repaired for quite some time and had exhausted all community resources in looking for an agency to help fund the repairs. The donation could not have come at a better time. Shirley’s lights in her home had been turned off and she had been dealing with cold weather and no heat up until a couple of weeks ago.
