Miller named All-American

Lee’s Summit West graduate and Southwest Baptist University cross country member Phillip Miller led his team to their highest-ever finish at the 2012 NCAA National Championships Nov. 17.

The Bearcats were ranked 19th coming into the meet but finished 14th out of 32 teams to give SBU the highest national finish int he history of the program.

Miller took 26th overall in a time of 30 minutes, 09.7 seconds, earning All-American status, the second cross country runner in the history of SBU to do so and claimed the highest individual finish of any SBU runner at nationals. Miler was the top MIAA finisher and the third finisher out of the Central Region.

Miller was also named All-Conference for MIAA and All-Central Region.
