Musical review to benefit Summit Theatre

Summit Theatre kicks off its 2013 season with a benefit performance featuring the best musical theatre performers who have lived and worked in Lee’s Summit through the years.

“There’s No Business Like Show Business: a Musical Review” will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 2, 2013 at the Emaline Ballroom, 616 SW 3rd Street.

Doors will open and drinks and hors d’euvres will be served beginning at 6 p.m. The performance is sponsored by Carl and Jean Chinnery on behalf of Summit Theatre Group.

“There’s No Business Like Show Business” offers an evening of musical entertainment, featuring favorite numbers from the Broadway and off-Broadway stage. Michael Dragen will be directing the stars of the evening including: James Wright, Nancy Nail, Lindsey Dragen and others.

Reservations are required, and ample parking is available. Tickets are $75 for individual seats with half and full table packages available at $250 for four and $500 for eight. Vouchers for beverages by Embrace the Grape are included and a generous spread of appetizers by The Portable Chef will be served.

Other offerings include performances of “Sylvia,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “The Guys” and “Love Letters.”
