NANCY COOKE TRACY

Nancy Cooke Tracy, age 80, Lee’s Summit, formerly of Chesterfield, passed away Dec. 25, 2012 at Village House in Lee’s Summit.

Mrs. Tracy was born Feb. 6, 1932 in St. Louis. She was the daughter of William Cooke and Lillian Anderson Cooke. A graduate of Barat College in Lake Forest, Ill., she worked as a 2nd grade teacher before starting her own family. She volunteered her time as a PTA member, Girl Scout leader and dedicated caller for St. Louis’s 100 Neediest Cases organization. In addition she loved her weekly bridge game.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Joseph Tracy. Together they raised five children; William Tracy (Debbie) of Leawood, Kan., Teri Dunivan of Raymore, Ann Riddle (Brad) of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mimi Houska (Paul) of Wilton, Conn., and Susan Mosier (David) of Lee’s Summit. Her pride and joy were her 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Jan. 2 with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Wildwood, Mo.

Memorial gifts may be made in her name to the Make a Wish Foundation of Missouri.
