LS CARES to present Love and Logic Parent courses for parents of young children and teens
Lee’s Summit CARES will present two popular Love and Logic courses during the spring semester. The program is offered in collaboration with the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District and ReDiscover.
Parenting Teens with Love and Logic will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 28 through April 4, at Bernard Campbell Middle School, 1201 NE Colbern Road.
Cost for the Parenting Teens course is $42 per participant and is offered at no cost for previous participants of this class. The class will focus on responsibility, reducing power struggles, setting enforceable limits, eliminating arguing and back talk, keeping teens safe online, motivating the unmotivated teen and improving communication. On Mar. 7, guests from the Lee’s Summit Police Department will facilitate a session on Internet safety and provide free monitoring software. Parents and their teenage children are invited to this special session.
Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, April 9 through May 7, at Great Beginnings Early Childhood Center, 908 NE Bluestem Drive. Cost for the class is just $20 per participant thanks to support from the Milton Feld Trust. There is no cost for previous participants of this class. Scholarships are also available for residents of the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District.
