Lee’s Summit Sunrise Rotary Club

7:15 a.m., Emaline Ballroom – Every Friday morning you are cordially invited to attend the Lee’s Summit Sunrise Rotary at the Emaline Ballroom, 616 S.W. Third St. You will have the opportunity to meet our many business members, have breakfast provided by local restaurateurs and hear an interesting program. Prairie Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution

Lee's Summit Quilters Guild

9 a.m., Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, 4725 NE Lakewood Way – The program is a trunk show by Amy Bradley of Amy Bradley Designs, from Lawrence, Kan. She has been quilting for over twenty years and designing quilting patterns and gift items that are sold in quilt shops.

Al-Anon

Noon, First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit, 1625 N.W. O’Brien Road – Is someone’s drinking causing you problems? Come to Al-Anon and join friends and family of alcoholics. The group meets weekly at noon on Mondays and 7:30 p.m. Thursdays.

Compulsive Eaters Anonymous HOW

Freedom to Speak Toastmasters

Noon, John Knox Village, 500 N.W. Murray Road – Toastmasters International is a non-profit organization that helps members develop and improve their public speaking abilities. The Lee’s Summit group meets at John Knox Village on the first, third and fifth Tuesdays of the month. For more information, call 816-347-7832.

Linus

1-3 p.m., Hobby Lobby, 1015 Northeast Rice Road – Bring your sewing machine and help make small quilts for Linus to give to children in the hospital.

Helping Hands of the Willing Workers

1 p.m., Longview Chapel Christian Church, 850 S.W. Longview Road – Join a weekly group that makes crafts and sews for the benefit of the church. The Helping Hands make items throughout the year to earn money for the building fund and make cheer baskets for the homebound. The group invites anyone looking for fellowship, fun and those who enjoy creating items, to join them. The group furnishes all supplies and is always looking for new ideas. Lee’s Summit Downtown Rotary Club

4:45 p.m., Lee’s Summit Firefighters Union Hall, 322 S.E. Douglas St. – The club’s mission is to meet the charitable needs of the local community and participate in worldwide humanitarian causes by utilizing the energy and dedication of its members. Kiwanis Club

6 p.m., Lakeside Dining Room at John Knox Village – The Kiwanis invite you to join them as they volunteer their time to serving the children of the world. The Lee’s Summit chapter of the Kiwanis are dedicated to service projects including sponsoring little league baseball and softball teams, assisting with Hope House, providing scholarships and other projects.
