The Lee’s Summit Police Department has concluded its investigation into the alleged “kill list” that was found in a student planner Dec. 7 at Lee’s Summit North High School.

According to a press release Jan. 11 from the LSPD, during the course of the investigation the original suspect in the case was contacted and interviewed. Information was gained from other sources that implicated another student in the incident.

After conducting an interview with the other student, who had moved out of state with his parents, the student confessed to writing the list in the planner.

The investigation confirmed that the incident never progressed beyond the writing of the list.

The suspect, who is a juvenile, is not being identified and the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District administration has taken appropriate action.

Once the case file is completed, it will be submitted for review to the juvenile court who will decide whether charges will be filed.

The investigation was a cooperative effort by investigators with the Lee’s Summit Police Department and staff from the R-7 school district.
