Lee’s Summit lost both duals against Raymore-Peculiar 45-31 and Blue Springs 57-18 at the match held Jan. 22 at Blue Springs. But the losses could have something to do with missing Tiger wrestlers due to injury, illness or missed practices.

“I thought our guys wrestled hard but had a difficult time breaking down the stance and position of the Blue Springs wrestlers,” Lee’s Summit head coach Jay McGovern said.

Blue Springs picked up Lee’s Summit forfeits at 106, 113, 145, 152 and 170 pounds. The Tigers got one forfeit in the 132-pound weight class and won three matches.

Alan Olivas (120) won by a 9-3 decision over Jeremy King, Theodore Propst won by a 5-4 decision over Collyn Allen and Logan Drake pinned Bryce Thomsen in 3 minutes, 10 seconds.

“Logan Drake was back for the first time since the Lee’s Summit North tournament and pinned both of the guys he wrestled,” McGovern said. “It was good to see him out on the mat against good competition. Alan Olivas really pushed the pace in both of his matches at 120 and is starting to wrestle really well. Both Logan and Alan were able to adjust to the Blue Springs style of wrestling and score offensive points.”

The Tigers lost the other five matches. Cartland Allen (126) lost a 4-2 decision to Joe King, Coulter Allen (138) lost by fall to Daniel Lewis in 31 seconds and Kyler Milligan (160) was pinned by Jayme Allen in 5:57. Nicholas Propst (182) lost by pin to Michael Pixley in 1:13 and Tyler Findlay lost by fall to Jamie Foutz in 0:29.

In the Raymore-Peculiar match, Lee’s Summit gave up forfeits at 106, 113, 145, 152 and 170 pounds. The Tigers won six matches though.

Alan Olivas (120) won by pin over Ross Zuber in 1:06, Cartland Allen (126) won by fall over Trey Hecker in 1:36 and Coulter Allen (138) won by a 10-1 major decision over Chase Brumback. Kyler Milligan (160) pinned Ecko Demaranville in 1:06, Theodore Propst (220) won by a 5-4 decision over Aaron King and Logan Drake (285) pinned William Mosley in 2:57.

Tiger Austin Jones (132) lost by a 6-5 decision to Kyle Wathor and Nicholas Propst (182) lost by fall to Cail Cooper in 1:48. Tyler Findlay (195) was pinned by Carter Mackender in 0:48.
