GRACE “MISS GRACE” INMAN

Grace “Miss Grace” Inman, 76, passed away Jan. 24, 2013 at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.

Grace was born Aug. 25, 1936 in Ashburn, Georgia, daughter of Leonard T. and Mildred L. (Farmer) Tinsley. She graduated from high school in Pleasant Hill. She was united in marriage to Jerry D. Inman on Oct. 2, 1953 in Albany, Georgia. Jerry’s military career took the couple all over the country. They resided in Albany, Ga.; Riverside, Calif., Tonapah, Nevada; San Antonio, Texas; Fairbanks, Alaska; Tucson, Ariz.; Fayetteville, N.C.; and Victorville, Calif. Upon retirement, they moved to Pleasant Hill. Grace and Jerry eventually lived in Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs prior to moving to Warrensburg in 1999. She was very actively involved in children’s ministries for the past fifty years and she taught backyard bible church at the various military bases. She was also an active member of Bethel Baptist Church where she taught children’s worship to two and three year olds. Grace loved the beach, reading and traveling. She was a very adventurous lady.

She was preceded in death by both parents; an infant brother, Benjamin Tinsley and Grandma Lula Farmer. Survivors include her husband, Jerry; two daughters; Kathy Inman and fiancé, Randy Smith of Odessa, and Vada Terry and husband, Pat of Lee’s Summit; grandchildren; Sarah Henks and husband, Daniel of Greenwood, and Jennifer Terry of Lee’s Summit, three great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Ellie and Trace Henks; stepfather, Lawrence Bird of Fayetteville, N.C. and several extended adopted military families.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 28 with interment in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or Bethel Baptist Church.
