Splashing for Special Olympics

Staff members from Summit Lakes Middle School dashed through 34-degree water Jan. 26 at the annual Polar Plunge in Lonview Lake. Mike Haase, a social studies teacher at the school, said it was their third year for participating in the event which raises money for Special Olympics, along with other teams from Lee's Summit and throughout the metropolitan area.
