Between the kicks, chops, grunting and serious karate faces, students in the life skills and medically fragile programs at Sunset Valley Elementary enjoyed a hands-on martial arts demonstration. Kyoshi Linda Hanson of Tamashii Black Belt Academy in Lee’s Summit provided exciting learning activities for the students.

The students had the opportunity to break boards, try out their kicking techniques, learn punching and defense blocks, make lots of noise, and at the same time have fun.

In addition to providing the demonstration at Sunset Valley, Hanson donates her time to provide anti-bullying and character building programs to students and parents at other Lee’s Summit R-7 schools.
