LUCINDA LOUETTE BACKHUS

Lucinda Louette Backhus, 47, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Feb. 2, 2013.

Lucinda loved to work. There was never a time you saw her just sitting down and doing nothing. She loved working for her most recent company, Bartlett Grain. At work she made many lasting friendships. Other than working, Lucinda loved to watch sports, especially baseball and softball. She was an avid Royals fan.

Lucinda left behind her father, Kenneth Decker of Lee’s Summit; her deceased mother, Meredith Decker (1944-2009); her brother, Shawn Decker of Johnston, Ia.; her husband, David Backhus; and her two children Jesse and Sammi Backhus of Blue Springs. Lucy also left behind several other friends and family, including her dog, Harley Backhus.

Lucy would like for guests to donate to her favorite charities instead of bringing flowers or cards. Charities include: Fox 4 Love Fund, KC Chaos softball team and the VFW Auxiliary #9997.
