Marty (Marvin W.) Henderson, 52, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Jan. 31, 2013 at Centerpoint Hospital.
Marty was born on May 27, 1960 in Lexington, Va. He was a loving husband of 20 years and father of three sons. He served in the United States Air Force from June 1981 and retired in June 2001. He served his country proud and served all over the world to include, California, Spain, Greece, Afghanistan, Turkey and Egypt. He was currently working for the Dept of Homeland Security. He lived a life full of joy and laughter. He loved to travel, spend time with friends, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys enthusiast. Marty coached little league football and basketball and volunteered working with homeless veterans.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin W. Henderson, Jr., Mother, Louise (Adamson) Henderson, a daughter, Kaitlin Ann Henderson and Sister Marlanesa Legetta.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Henderson, three sons, Jeffrey Conway, Mark Conway, and Brandon Henderson, siblings; Jaquettah Tyson (Lorenzo), Donna W. Valentine (Richard), Penny W. Smith, Ernest E. Henderson, Tracye L. Henderson, Frankie A. William (Keryl), Bowman Ware (Missy), Dirk Williams, Tony Hinson, 2 sister-in-laws, Patty Stoll (Kevin), Christine Baxter, and Brother-in-law Daniel Baxter (Cheryl).
A Celebration of Life was held on Feb. 4, 2013. There was a burial with military honors at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Warrensburg.
