The city and Mayor Randy Rhoads is getting Smart Growth America’s 2013 Leadership Award. The national nonprofit is presenting awards at a ceremony on Friday, Feb. 8 in Kansas City at the New Partners for Smart Growth Conference.
Mission, Kan, and its mayor also are getting the award.” Mayor Rhoads and Mayor McConwell have made significant strides in partnership with their cities,” says Geoffrey Anderson, President and CEO of Smart Growth America. “These leaders are stellar examples of how better development strategies can improve communities and economies. It takes thoughtful, proactive planning, and both towns are laying the groundwork for future success.”
