Breakfast benefits Lee’s Summit Social Services
Lee’s Summit Social Services holds its annual pancake breakfast Feb. 16.
All funds raised from this event will go to support the programs of Lee’s Summit Social Services.
The breakfast runs from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, located
2 N Douglas St. Enter from the back of the building at the awning.
Lee’s Summit Social Services, an emergency assistance agency, gave more than $1.3 million worth of in-kind and monetary services during 2012 to individuals and families in need.
It included:
$809,520 in food given to 4,269 individuals
335 infants received formula and baby supplies
972 families receiving utility assistance
4 senior households assisted with emergency home repair
277 children receiving new coats, caps, gloves and scarves
840 children receiving gifts and toys from the LSSS Christmas Store and also clothing
583 children assisted with new shoes, clothing and backpacks and school supplies in the “Back to School Program.”
