LSWHS DECA captures awards at district contest
Lee’s Summit West High School marketing students captured awards at the Feb. 14 DECA district contest. LSWHS students won a total of 59 awards with students qualifying for state competition in 24 areas.
Students winning individual-event awards were Dalton McAdams, Sydney Patterson, Tony Mok, all first place; Andy Evans and Ryan Justice, second place; Camille Thompson, third place; Kiera Wollerman, fourth place; Tyler Cox, Maya Rivera and Abby Kaiser, fifth place; Alex Black and Jayne Molt, sixth place; Trevor Butler and Madeline Finnerty, seventh place; and Alexander Hadley, Raquel Bifford and Edward Jones, eighth place.
Winners in team-decision events were Zachery Porter and Brittany Moss, Triece Hudson and Jekayla Curtis, Sara Mather and Megan Rhodes, Earl Cobbins and Zachery Swinford, Andrew Jones and Addy Barr, DJ Edwards and Austin Dismond, Blake Kobel and Nathan Davis, Elizabeth Black and Evan Smith, Jackson Schnurbusch and Micah Baggett, Victor Guerrero and Nick VanRoss, Alex Prstojevich and Dionne Vertreese, and Alex Grantham and Caleb Rivera.
Research-event winners were Sydney Patters and Caleb Rivera; Brittany Goforth and Sara Mather; Alex Grantham, Earl Cobbins and Zach Swinford; Victor Guerrero and Nick VanRoss; and Brianna Keck and Megan Rhodes.
Chapter-event winners included Andy Barr, Andrew Jones and Katie Brown; and Brandon Roberson, Micah Baggett and Nate Davis.
