Sue McMilian will join the Chamber staff as administrative assistant on March 4. McMilian has a long history with chamber work. She began her career immediately out of school at the Independence Chamber and was vice president when she left in 2009. Her most recent chamber experience was in Blue Springs where she was the director of special events. </p><p>&#x201C;Sue worked for me for the nine years that I was at the Independence Chamber and I think she will be a great asset for us,&#x201D; said President Nancy Bruns. &#x201C;With her experience, she can immediately begin to assist our staff and the community.&#x201D;</p><p>McMilian graduated from the Institute for Organizational Management (Chamber Institute) in 1998 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her to the Lee&#x2019;s Summit Chamber. She will work directly with the other chamber staff to continue to provide the programs and services offered by the Chamber.</p><p>McMilian is replacing long-time employee Kathy LeChien who is retiring February 28.</p><p>The Lee&#x2019;s Summit Chamber was incorporated in 1969 and is a member-supported organization of businesses dedicated to creating opportunities for business success through networking, advocacy, and business and professional development.
