10 a.m., Jackson County Genealogical Research Library, located in the historical Truman Depot south of the Community of Christ Auditorium on Pacific St. – Tony Meyers, with Keith Nelson to speak on Divided Loyalties –The Civil War Soldiers of Clay County. There will be refreshments and door prizes.
Longview Chapel Chili Supper
4-7 p.m., 850 SW Longview Rd., The Longview Chapel Christian Church – We will be serving chili, soup, pie or cookies and drinks. Take out available. There will be a silent auction for some of the members favorite desserts. Cost: donation $6.00 Adults, $3.50 Kids (10 and under) and (5 and under) Free.

6 p.m., Legacy Christian Church, 2150 E Langsford Road – The Lee’s Summit Toastmasters Club No. 5317 meets on the first, third and fifth Mondays each month for those interested in public speaking. Guests are always welcome.

Freedom to Speak Toastmasters

Helping Hands of the Willing Workers
1 p.m., Longview Chapel Christian Church, 850 SW Longview Road – Join a weekly group that makes crafts and sews for the benefit of the church. The Helping Hands make items throughout the year to earn money for the building fund and make cheer baskets for the homebound. The group invites anyone looking for fellowship, fun and those who enjoy creating items, to join them. The group furnishes all supplies and is always looking for new ideas.
