Near sell-out crowd attends Lee’s Summit Symphony Family Pops Spectacular
The Lee’s Summit Symphony’s fifth annual Family Pops Spectacular included music and activities for all ages. A near sell-out crowd packed the Lee’s Summit High School performing arts center March 9 for a selection of popular music from Broadway shows such as “Wicked,” “Annie” and “Les Miserable.”
Before the concert, families had the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities sponsored by Summit Art, an instrument petting zoo sponsored by Heartland Music Academy and watch demonstrations by KC Strings focusing on how musical instruments are made.
The Lee’s Summit Symphony’s next concert will be Celebration at the Kauffman Center, scheduled for 8 p.m. June 15 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City. This special concert concludes the Symphony’s 10th season celebration and is exclusively sponsored by Saint Luke’s East Hospital. Tickets to this concert will be available in April online and at both Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee stores.
