The Strip Run

7:30 a.m., 5K Run to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. Runners are encouraged to wear extra clothing they are willing to donate, and wear them to the race. Runners will stop at “Strip Stations” during the race to take off items of clothing one at a time to donate to charity.

Head Shave for Hope House

10 a.m.-4 p.m., Fire Fighters Union Hall, 322 S.E. Douglas St., in Downtown Lee’s Summit. Highest bidders will get to shave the head of local police, firefighters, elected officials and other local celebrities. Items are also up for bid in a silent auction. All proceeds benefit Hope House. Head shaving beginning at 2 p.m.

“The Bible 30-Day Church Experience”

7-9 p.m., Woods Chapel Church, 4725 NE Lakewood Way – Based on the epic TV miniseries, The Bible, those in attendance will experience the power and drama of some of the world’s most well known stories in a fresh, new way. A miniseries watch party will take place Sunday evenings at the church for those interested in viewing the miniseries on a giant screen. As part of “The Bible 30-Day Church Experience”, the church will also include stunning video clips from the TV miniseries produced by Emmy Award winning husband and wife team of Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor) and Roma Downey (Touched By an Angel) into weekly worship at 8, 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m.

Freedom to Speak Toastmasters

The Helping Hands make items throughout the year to earn money for the building fund and make cheer baskets for the homebound.
