Supporting the bond
Dear Editor,
Marlese and I urge our Lee’s Summit friends to support the April 2 General Obligation (no tax increase) Bond Election.
My wife, Marlese Lowe-Gourley, is a true native of the Lee’s Summit area. She was born, married and will be buried on the same piece of ground (the current cemetery just east of town on 50 Highway). We have made our home in this area for almost 50 years, so we speak from a long association with our home town.
We can name few communities that match our great school system;
outstanding parks and recreation facilities; fine arts and culture programs; and effective local government. This current bond issue will continue in our commitment to support a true quality of life for Lee’s Summit. Passing this bond issue will elevate us forward in the arts world. It will also support the improvement of neighborhood streets and services.
We hope you will agree with us, and support this important bond issue.
We will either move forward or retreat. Which will it be?
Bob and Marlese Gourley
