Prom dress donation event to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at Micah’s Boutique
Summit Fair is helping local teen girls have the prom of their dreams by hosting a prom dress donation event from 2 to 4 p.m. March 30 at Micah’s Boutique.
New and gently used prom-appropriate dresses, jewelry, evening bags, dressy shoes, strapless bras, body shapers as well as new makeup samples will be accepted and donated to Prom Boutique, a community event hosted by Woods Chapel Church in Lee’s Summit.
Prom Boutique provides new and gently used prom and bridesmaid dresses to local high school girls who are unable to purchase their own prom dress. Donations are tax-deductible.
“Last year’s Prom Boutique gave away an amazing 1,400 dresses,” said Faryle Scott, Summit Fair marketing coordinator. “We know that every parent wants to be able to buy their daughter the prom dress of her dreams, but reality is that many families in our community don’t have the means to do that. Summit Fair is thrilled to create an opportunity to take that forgotten dress in the back of the closet and turn it into the dress that a grateful teen will remember forever.”
Micah’s Boutique is located in Summit Fair at 930 N.W. Blue Parkway, Suite E. Shoppers may also enter a drawing from now until March 30th to a win their own prom dress.
Prom Boutique will open its doors April 2-5 from 3 to 7 p.m. and April 6, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church, 4725 N.E. Lakewood Way in Lee’s Summit.
Everyone is welcome and free alterations will also be offered.
