Lee's Summit Elementary students recently had the opportunity to throw large quantities of whipped topping at school staff members after successfully completing a reading challenge. Principal Tracy Sample challenged teachers to set reading goals for each student in the school. The 169 students who met their goal for third quarter had the chance to throw whipped topping at, from left, Sample; Sarah Eckert, library media specialist; Betsy Michaelis, Title I interventionist; or Nancy Joseph, reading specialist.
