GRETCHEN JUANITA HOOK
Gretchen Juanita Hook, 83, of Lee’s Summit, passed away March 28, 2013.
She was born in Nashville, Tenn. on July 12, 1929 and was raised by hard working parents. She has two brothers and three sisters. She spent time playing guitar and singing with her sisters. They sang on the radio occasionally. She loves to sing and yodel. My goodness could she yodel. Her life was filled with love from childhood till her passing. She lived in eastern, Tenn., Washington D.C., and finally made Raytown she and her family’s home.
She always had a joke to ease tension and was never without a clever southern saying. Gretchen always, always had a song she would sing for all to hear. She raised three children and sent them on their way. They are all doing real good.
She had many friends throughout her life but her best friends were waiting for her in Heaven. Her two brothers, Johnny and Eddie, her three sisters; Frances, Drucilla and Dorothy and two wonderful parents, Edward Sterling Webb and Daisy Bell Webb, all waiting to meet her there to all sing together again, forever.
She left behind her children; Debbie Larson, Michael Mayosky and Troy Hook, a son-in-law, Leonard Larson, a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Hook; seven grandchildren, Michael, Christy, Daisy, Becky, Tim, Aurora and Dustin; seven great-grandchildren and a mess of nephews and nieces, cousins and all families. She was much loved and will be dearly missed. God bless her and God bless the time she spent with us.
Memorial services will be April 4, 2013 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Raytown.
