Stacy James named new principal for Woodland Elementary

April 17, 2013

Stacy James, currently an R-7 School District elementary assistant principal, was named the school’s 2013-14 principal at the April 11 Board of Education meeting.

James replaces Michael Pragman who is resigning this summer to accept a position with another school district.

An educator since 1992, James is currently serving as assistant principal at Prairie View Elementary and Richardson Elementary. She taught first and second grades at Woodland from 2004 through 2012 and previously taught elementary school in both the Blue Springs and Odessa School Districts.

A Lee’s Summit resident, James earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri-Columbia, her master’s degree in teaching from Webster University and her education specialist degree in school administration from the University of Central Missouri.
