Jerry’s Bait Shop, a downtown Lee’s Summit destination for live music for eight years, announced April 16 that it will be closing its doors in Lee’s Summit, according the business’s Facebook page. An employee that answered the phone in Lee’s Summit Tuesday afternoon confirmed the closing but would not comment further.
Calls to reach the owners of the Lenexa, Kan.-based business for comment were unsuccessful, but a Facebook posting right before 3 p.m. April 16 announced the move.
“After (eight) long years, it is with heavy hearts that we have decided to close our doors in downtown Lee’s Summit tomorrow (April 17),” the post read. Rock on Lee’s Summit, thank you for letting us be a part of your lives for so long.”
Jerry’s was known regionally for music, from cover bands to original acts, and for many years boasted live music seven nights a week.
