Richardson Elementary celebrates Earth Day

April 24, 2013

The Energy Hound Team at Richardson Elementary recently organized a school wide Earth Day project to encourage reusing of old T-shirts to “Go Green” and help the planet.

Students from the team made posters and announcements telling students at Richardson to bring in an old T-shirt to turn into a T-shirt bag. Volunteers were recruited to sew the bags after the children had cut them into the appropriate pattern.

On Earth Day, April 22, students and teachers at Richardson planned to carry their T-shirt bags to school to demonstrate one way to reuse old clothing.
