Journal brings home MAMA awards

April 24, 2013

The Lee’s Summit Journal brought home three awards from last week’s Missouri Advertising Manager’s Association convention in Lake Ozark.

Graphic Designer Ashlee Hendrix was awarded a second place in the statewide competition for best newspaper insert for her work on the Journal’s quarterly sports section, Varsity News.

Hendrix also won honorable mention awards for best house ad (the Journal Pumpkin Patch event) and best newspaper promotion (for the Journal’s partnership with the Lion’s Club).

It was the first MAMA awards earned by the Journal in several years.

“Ashlee has been with us less than a year, but her talents made an impact on the look and quality of our newspaper immediately,” Publisher John Beaudoin said. “Having a quality graphic artist on staff helps every corner of our operation, from advertising to circulation to news. We’re fortunate to have Ashlee here and able to further elevate our level of success.”

Lee's Summit Journal is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
