Josephine “Joie” Morlock

April 26, 2013

Josephine “Joie” Morlock left this earthly life to go home to the Lord on April 12, 2013 after a debilitating stroke.

She was born in Houghton, Mich. in 1932 and lived a full happy life in Michigan, California and lastly Missouri where she was able to spend more time with her grown children and granddaughter. Joie’s passions included committee work at John Knox Village, staying active in her Lee’s Summit Methodist Church, reading and traveling; where she enjoyed trips to Scotland, England, the Mediterranean, Canada and many of these United States. Joie will be missed by all those she came in contact with, as she left a lasting impression of one who spoke her mind and was passionate about her beliefs.

She is survived by a daughter of Holden, Mo., Kristen K. Stuva; a son of New York, N.Y., Thomas J. Kerr; a granddaughter of Madison, Wi., Patricia S. Sugden; and a sister of Houghton, Mich., Mildred Townsend.

A memorial in honor of Joie will be held at the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church on May 4, 2013 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Village Hospice House, 600 NW Pryor Road, Lee’s Summit, MO, 64081.
