LSWHS students capture awards at FCCLA State Conference

Lee’s Summit West High School students captured awards in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America State Leadership Conference, held April 8-9 in Columbia.

The conference is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

FCCLA is a career and technical student organization for students enrolled in family and consumer sciences education courses.

Winners included a Gold award in Life Event Planning for Tessa Robinett; Gold award in Fashion Construction for Sara Mather; Silver award in Chapter Showcase Manual for Triece Hudson, Danisha Fulbright and Janelle Olawaiye; Silver award in Career Investigation for Micah White; Silver award in Focus on Children, Healthy Snacking for Kristina McDaniel, Madeline Cosgrove; Silver award in Recycle/Redesign for Kelly Ducklow; and Bronze award in Career Investigation for Keianna Edwards.

Chapter Awards Included Career Investigation; Show Me 5; Teen Times; Community Service; Families Acting for Traffic Safety (FACTS); Leaders to Watch: Tessa Robinett, Sara Mather and Courtney Rosencrants; Power of One: Tessa Robinett, Sara Mather and Alex Tipton; Region 14 President: Alex Tipton; Region 14 Parliamentarian: Triece Hudson; and Region 14 Community Service: Kristina McDaniel.
