Echoes

May 3, 2013

where is

the morning

after

pill

i have

longed

for

all my

life

to

preserve

the thrills

and erase

the consequences

of yesterdays

mistaken

choices

for

everyone

involved

they are

fracking

in dakota

not to mention

Oklahoma

while

i wage

chemical

warfare

in my

backyard

there is

just no

market

for

dandelion

wine

but please

leave

the worms

alone

they do

earths

necessary

work

are

the robots

winning

who

programs

them

have they

crossed

the call back

zone

here come

the drones

god

even

if

you

have

stopped

loving

me

today

could

we

still

dance

together

i have

misplaced

my elegant

theory

that explains

everything

and am

far too

old

to hold

you

accountable
