Cappies nominations at LSHS

The Kansas City Cappies gathered May 6th at Lee’s Summit High School to vote for the awards for the 11th annual Kansas City Cappies Gala.

More than 100 student critics from high schools all over the metro gathered in Lee’s Summit High School’s Media Center to vote on 38 categories, which they observed at the numerous theatrical performances they watched and wrote reviews for over the course of the year.

The results from the voting will be tabulated by CPA firm, Burrington and Starkey, of Belton, and released to the public May 10th.

The black tie, 11th annual Kansas City Cappies Gala will take place at 6:30 p.m. June 1 at Grandivew High School, where all of the awards for the best in high school theater in Kansas City will be awarded. The event will be emceed by local professional actor and past Cappie award winner, Shea Coffman.

Tickets are $10 in advance/$15 at the door. Reservations can be made by calling 1-877-902-2779 ext. 107.
