The annual 5K run, Night Flight, is set for 9 p.m. June 14 at Harris Park.
For 32 years Night Flight has been a part of Lee’s Summit. Originally part of the Cole Younger Days celebration, the race was hosted by Lee’s Summit Medical Center for more than 10 years. For the past six years, Lee’s Summit Medical Center has partnered with Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation to benefit the Legacy for Parks Foundation.
Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation is hosting a post-race swim at Summit Waves. Participants will have free entry to the “Dash and Dive Party” and family members are welcome for $4 each.
The race route will begin and end at Harris Park and go through downtown Lee’s Summit, the entire route is paved. Pre-registration only. Fees are $25 for participants age 14 and up and $20 for 13 and under when registered by May 29. After that fees increase $5. The night of registrations will not be available.
