Trailridge Elementary collects school supplies for Honduras school children

May 15, 2013

Trailridge Elementary Student Council sponsored a Spirit Week during May to collect school supplies for school children in Honduras. The students brought in close to 4,000 school supplies to benefit the schools.

Jayne Hartwig, fifth-grade teacher at Trailridge, will travel to Honduras in early June with Friends United, a non-profit organization created to empower teachers in developing countries.

The group will provide workshops for teachers, sharing lessons and working with children.

The Trailridge Elementary student council is sponsored by Hartwig and Jennifer Kevern.
